Firearms, alcohol and other regulated lots

Some categories come with legal rules: firearms, ammunition, alcohol, ivory and a few others. The lot page shows the rules in plain words, and tells you whether you can bid from your address on file.

Age and residency

Some lots need you to be 21 or older. A firearm sold privately can only go to a resident of the seller's state, in person. When you register for such a sale you confirm your age and where you live; if your address is out of state, the bid button stays off for those lots.

Paying for them

Many regulated lots are paid to the seller directly, in person or through the seller's own payment service, not charged to your card by Catalot. They go on their own invoice, marked "due to the seller".

Shipping

Most regulated lots are pickup only, or ship only to a licensed dealer. The lot page says which.
