Invoices, payments and refunds

How buyers are charged, and how to refund or adjust an invoice.

Charges

When a sale closes, each winner gets one invoice. Cards are charged on your Stripe account after the sale's charge delay; you are the merchant of record. Catalot's fee is taken from each charge. Regulated lots paid through your own route go on a separate invoice that Catalot does not charge; the fee on it is billed to you.

Refunds and adjustments

From an invoice you can void a lot, refund part of it, refund shipping, or reverse a fee, with a reason. Catalot records it and shows the exact amount: you issue the refund in your Stripe dashboard (Open in Stripe), and the invoice shows "pending refund" until Stripe confirms it.

Disputes

A disputed charge shows the evidence Catalot gathered (terms acceptance, bid history, invoice, pickup or tracking, messages) as a PDF to upload to Stripe.
