Publishing a sale: closing times and soft close

Closing times

Set when the first lot closes and how many lots close each minute (the stagger). Publishing gives every approved lot its closing time, in number order.

Soft close

A bid in a lot's last minutes extends that lot (by default 2 minutes for a bid in the last 2). Only that lot moves.

After publishing

You can add lots to a published sale; they close after the last lot. Some settings lock once the sale is published, and the terms lock once anyone has bid, because bidders accepted them. Changes to pickup times after publishing are flagged to bidders.
